Burdick Tax & Accounting is a full-service accounting firm serving the tax and accounting needs of individuals and small businesses in the Decatur area at competitive rates. Melanie Burdick

Melanie joined the Army immediately following high school and served for eight years. She was deployed twice to Bosnia during that time and worked as a finance clerk in the Army Post Office.

Between deployments she worked on her degrees from Calhoun Community College and Athens State University majoring in Accounting and with a minor in Business. She also worked as an accountant's assistant at a CPA firm. At that point, she realized that being an accountant could be more than just a career but also an opportunity to help small business owners succeed. This is what convinced her that public accounting was the field in which she belonged. Since then she has worked as head of accounting with two companies, a large commercial/residential landscaping firm and a multimillion dollar government contractor that produces shelter systems for the military.

Melanie is married to her husband and business partner, Benny Burdick. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter in 2009. With over ten years accounting experience and a sharp attention for detail and accuracy, she is an honest and dependable provider for your accounting needs.

Benny Burdick

Benny Burdick grew up in Addison, AL and has a background in quality control. His experience gives him extensive knowledge of Excel, attention to detail and strong computer skills. These skills have made him a valuable asset as part owner of Burdick Tax & Accounting. He serves as our Marketing Director and is also an income tax professional. Benny loves spending time with his family and is a dedicated husband and father.

Missy Fulks

Missy Fulks currently serves as an accounting assistant at Burdick Tax & Accounting. She is currently completing her accounting degree and enjoys applying her attention to detail and accuracy in a supportive role to the staff. She loves using her on-going accounting education and skills, in an assisting capacity, to help our clients with their accounting needs. She is happily married to Lance, and has two children, ages six and twenty-one. Besides working and attending college to complete her degree, she loves to spend time with her family, read, and scrapbook.

Melissa Cobb

Melissa realized her passion for accounting while helping a small chiropractic clinic meet their budgetary needs. She could depend on the checks & balancing system of accounting to solve financial problems and help businesses all at the same time. She pursued her bachelor's degree in accounting & achieved it through Southeastern Louisiana University.

With over 6 years of experience working at a CPA firm, Melissa is greatly enjoying using her experience to help benefit others. She is a team player that works efficiently and effectively on any task given.

Melissa is currently married with an amazing two month old daughter. She is working towards her CPA certification in the future.
